Landforms
Winnipeg has various different landscapes including mountains, hills, plains (fat land, prairies), lowlands, farmland, lakes, and many rivers. These various landforms consists of hard and/or soft sedimentary rock, and took millions of years to form (Precambrian Era). Climate Winnipeg's climate varies, and changes year round. Winnipeg consists of the four seasons (spring, summer, fall, and winter). The climate in Winnipeg changes between the following year round: warm, hot, cold, and dry. They also have long winters, and short summers. Within these seasons there a strong winds, and a lot of precipitation. Soil and Vegetation Vegetation: Winnipeg has natural vegetation, and has forests that consist of boreal and taiga forest, mixed forest, deciduous forest, and coniferous forest. It consists of open grassland, forest, and many different trees such as elm, ash, oak, spruce, pine, larch, aspen, birch, willow, fir. Many trees are processed to make things like furniture, paper, pencils, and lumber. These trees consist of spruce, fir, and pine. Soil: The soil in Winnipeg is wet climate soil, this is also called leached soil. Throughout Winnipeg there is thin soil, top soil, humus, rich topsoil, thick soil, and good farming soil. With the wet soil in Winnipeg the water moves downwards through the soil, this is also called leaching.
